  14. I recently purchase a Kenwood TM-D700a radio to get on the APRS
  15. bandwagon. This duel band radio 2 meters and 70 cm with built in tnc.
  16. is terrific and I am very pleased with its performance. My problems
  17. began when I tried to load frequencies and operating platforms from the
  18. computer with software provided at the Kenwood internet site. Nowhere
  19. in the manual did it mention how this was done or what port was used on
  20. the radio. Frustrated I called Radioworld were I made purchase and they
  21. supplied me with what they said was the proper patch cord. In fact the
  22. cord supplied by Radioworld was for an outboard tnc and improper. I
  23. also made calls to Kenwood that were not returned. To make a long story
  24. short and with the aid of my friend Tom we discovered it is programmed
  25. through its DB9 from a computers serial port. The db9,s are wired pin
  26. to pin, nothing fancy, Kenwood software loads fine
  27.
